Why I Work This Way
I work the way I do because I have learned, both professionally and personally, that people do not need to be fixed. They need to be understood, accepted, supported.
Much of my training and experience has highlighted to me how easily people can be reduced to labels, diagnoses, roles, or expectations. How distress is treated as a failure or a mental illness, rather than an attempt to cope, a response to life, pressure, or unmet needs.
But through my work, I have learned to look at people in context, to pay attention to how life experiences, environments, responsibilities, and values shape the way we function. It also showed me that meaningful change does not come from being told what to do, but from developing awareness, choice, and a sense of agency. I have come to recognise that resilience is strength when combined with care for oneself, and that freedom is independence when connection and support are present.
This is why my work focuses on awareness, regulation, boundaries, and values. I help people notice patterns, pause before reacting, listen to their bodies, and act in line with what truly matters to them. Not to become someone else, but to come home to themselves.
I value transparency and responsibility in therapy. Change requires commitment, reflection, and practice beyond the therapy session. I am honest about this from the start. I will support you, but I cannot go on this journey for you. That work belongs to you.
