Yoana Laskova

I am an integrative occupational therapist specialising in trauma-informed work and occupational therapy-focused treatment for trauma stabilisation, eating disorders, disordered eating, and sustainable weight management.

My approach is integrative and evidence-based, drawing on a range of therapeutic modalities, including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and somatic therapy, alongside a strong focus on physical health, daily functioning, and meaningful social connection.

I hold a BSc in Cognitive Psychology and an MSc in Occupational Therapy, and I am currently completing Level 4 training in ACT. My work is also informed by experience in DBT practice and somatic approaches.

I have worked across NHS services and in private practice, supporting adults in day services and in the community through occupation-focused individual and group activities.

Through my work, I focus on the connection between mind, body, and spirit, taking a holistic and person-centred approach that recognises how people experience the world through both mind and body. I believe that we store and process experiences not only cognitively, but also physically, and that meaningful change comes from working with the person as a whole and their lived experience.

My approach centres on therapeutic collaboration and evidence-based, personalised care, creating a space where people feel safe to explore their experiences at their own pace, without judgement. I support individuals in developing a deeper understanding of themselves, building sustainable change, and reconnecting with meaningful ways of living.

In my free time, I work as an associate tutor at the University of East Anglia (UEA), teaching Occupational Therapy to BSc and MSc students. I love being in nature, hiking, cycling, camping, and foraging. And when the weather does not allow it, you can find me with a pot of tea and a nice book at home.
